Lawn Care Tips

Lawn Care FAQ's

Pricing is determined by the size of your yard. Other factors are also considered, such as corner lots, fencing, hills, access, and other elements affecting difficulty.

We bill monthly. Full payment is required 10 days after the invoice date. We accept checks, or mobile payments (Venmo) are accepted with an additional transaction fee.

Our workdays are Monday-Friday. However, we will work on weekends to catch up on work due to rain delays or unforeseen events. Every season we compile a list for each workday based on the location of each property that allows us to service each client efficiently and in a timely manner.  We make an effort to maintain the same route every week, although we cannot guarantee an exact time or specific time range each service day, as several factors can affect our schedule.

Because we follow a strict schedule, we don’t often take days off and may work on holidays. We will also mow if there is light rain or after the rain subsides. If Mother Nature decides to rain all day, we will push back your service date to the next day. If it rains any day in the week prior to your mow day, your mow day may be pushed back one day.

We will do our best not to mow when your property is wet; however, there are months of the year when your lawn is actively growing, and it is better to mow your lawn when it is wet than run the risk of skipping it and going multiple weeks without a cut. If there is a certain area of your property that tends to collect water, we will skip that area. There are times when ruts may be created in your lawn due to the lawn being wet when mowed. These ruts are almost always temporary and self-repair as the lawn dries out.

If you feel like your lawn is too wet to be mowed on your scheduled day, please contact us right away, and we can discuss your concerns.

We do not currently provide a bagging service. Please follow our business page for any updates or changes.

Each property may vary when determining the height/length of cut. Several factors are considered, which include: the type of grass, location, traffic, maintenance, and other elements that may affect the growth of the turf. We typically mow “shorter” during the beginning of the season, and as the temperature begins to warm up, we mow “higher” to combat the heat. As the season transitions to cooler fall months, we again mow “shorter.”

Please contact us immediately upon discovering any damage caused by our mowing crews. We will assess the damage and take the appropriate steps to resolve the issue.

This is a common issue if the sprinkler heads are stuck “up.” However, we do our best to look ahead for any object(s) that could damage your property or our equipment. Please inform us if any heads are damaged during our service, so that we can take the proper steps to notify your irrigation company.

Fence damage may occur. There are many types of fencing, and we take precautions based on your specific fence.  Please contact our office if you have any questions about your fence and potential damage, and we will have someone assess the damage and set up any repairs, if needed.

We use commercial-grade mowers. These mowers are self-propelled and are made to move at a much faster pace than a standard residential walk-behind mower.

During the peak season we sharpen our blades every day to ensure the best cut every time we service your property. During the slower months we may sharpen our blades less frequently because we aren’t using our mowers as often, but we always make sure that we are providing the best quality cuts and results.

There are a number of ways to communicate any and all of your concerns or questions:

  3. Text: 319-431-5516

No, these are additional services, please contact me for an estimate. Our mowing service includes all areas of your property that would be considered “the yard”.  Any  areas that are enclosed by a border or outline by bushes are considered a flower bed.

No, no one needs to be home when your lawn is mowed. If you have a fence, please unlock any locks during your specific service day. If you prefer not to unlock your gate, we recommend that you use combo locks and that you provide us with a password/code. We will not send our crews back or issue a refund for not mowing inside a locked fence.

Yes, please contact us, and we can discuss your project.

No, these days are left open for services needed after weather delays.

We strive for your complete satisfaction with every service we provide. While we are unable to give refunds or credits, we will send the crew back to correct any reasonable service issues without any additional charge, if you contact us within 24 hours of the service. Otherwise, we will consider the work satisfactory.

Please see your service agreement.

Bi-Weekly services are not offered at this time.

Yes, please make arrangements with a dog waste clean-up service or pick up the dog’s waste before we service your lawn. An “excessive poop” fee will be added to your invoice if excessive waste becomes an issue.

Yes, this fee is based on the current fuel market.

We appreciate you letting us know if you have any pets that are kept outside, so that the crews can be aware of them. Our crews will make every effort not to let your pet through a fence gate, but we cannot guarantee that your pet will not escape. Please leave your pet inside on your scheduled service days. Please pick up all toys, large bones, large rocks, etc. the day before we mow. If hit by the mower, objects like these in your yard are hazardous to our crew, others, your property, and our equipment.

We make every effort to minimize grass clippings in those areas, some factors like wind, or lot size can pose challenges. However, we can assure you that our team will utilize our leaf blowers after each service to reduce excess grass clippings in bed areas or fence panels.

No. However, all properties are different, and we will use our discretion if we think we should skip or mow your lawn during a dry spell. If your property has irrigation and it is programmed regularly, we will continue to service your lawn.

Yes, please contact us, and we can discuss your specific needs. We provide, but are not limited to, the following services: spring/fall clean up, fertilizer programs, weed control, tree/bush trimming, bush/plant removal, plant/bush installation, bed maintenance, core aeration, sod installation, landscaping, stump grinding, junk removal, and much more!
